If you are new to the idea of coaching this will give you some clarity around what to expect in our 1 to 1 coaching sessions.
Have you ever wondered just why you struggle to follow through when you make a decision or resolution to make positive changes in your life, or can’t seem to stay focused on your goals? Then coaching just may be for you.
A coach is a bit like a guide, there to ‘walk’ with you as you move towards the positive changes you are seeking. They are there to help you to ‘see’ things that you have lost sight, of or to point out options that you could explore on your journey. A coach is not there to tell you what to do but to help you to get to the heart of any obstacles that may be blocking you from achieving your desired outcomes.
Typical issues and desires as to why people seek out a coach include (but are not limited to):
• Feeling overwhelmed or stressed
• Feeling tired and depleted of energy
• Increased healthful dietary habits
• Increased exercise – movement of the body/daily movement habits
• Improving sleep habits
• Becoming more mindful
• Learning to love your body
• Improve work/life balance
• Setting and achieving goals
As you can see the reasons are many and varied. Sometimes just by addressing one aspect in our life we inadvertently make progress or clear up another issue.
During our first session we will explore what it is you are wanting to achieve and where you are wanting to head with your goals. I will be sending you a Wellbeing questionnaire that I would like you to complete and return to me prior to your first session. This will give us both insights into your wants and needs.
This first session is designed to give you a small taste of what coaching is and whether it is right for you. This will also give us both the opportunity to get to know each other. Once we have completed this session we will then go on to arrange suitable times for the fortnightly sessions. We would generally work together for the next 3 to 6 months.
