Probiotics and your health


Found a little information on Probiotics and gut health and thought I would share.  As the picture quotes digestive issues to the American population I have put together some Probiotic InfoAustralian statistics so it is a little more relevant for us here.

According to the Gut Foundation of Australia – “The leading authority on gastrointestinal disease and conditions in Australia. Half our population complain of some digestive problem in any 12 month period. We all know someone with heartburn, diarrhoea, an ulcer, irritable bowel or Crohn’s disease, colitis, or even bowel cancer. And the rates are increasing.”

So half the population that’s one in two. This does not account for things such as allergies, intolerances, asthma, or eczema with the research also pointing to digestive health as big indicators. What would it be if we included these as well? Perhaps even higher?

Whilst a local sourced diet rich with a wide variety of fruits, veggies, nuts seeds grains etc is always your starting point for anything related to your health sometimes more is needed.
